Overview
About this product.
A grocery assistant that learns what you actually cook, plans the week with you, and turns it into a shopping list — without the endless tapping that the existing apps require.
Pantry is our take on the assistant pattern applied to a job people genuinely do every week. Most grocery apps treat you like a barcode scanner. Pantry treats you like someone who is tired on a Tuesday night and wants dinner sorted — scan the receipt from your last shop and it already knows what you buy, what it costs, and when prices tend to drop.
How we built it
The approach behind the product.
- AI doing real work We built an assistant that replaces a category of manual effort — not one that autocompletes a field. Pantry reads the QR code on a Brazilian e-receipt (NFC-e), scrapes the tax-authority page behind it, and turns a scanned coupon into structured line items automatically — real extraction, not a form to fill in.
- State that compounds The product gets more useful the longer it is used. Every scanned receipt feeds a persistent price history and spending breakdown per item and category, and that running record is what lets Pantry start suggesting the smarter week — not just log the last one.
- Shipped to real users Pantry is in closed beta with active users and real feedback loops on iOS and Web. The infrastructure — async receipt-processing queue, synced offline-first shopping list — supports continuous delivery as the AI layer improves.
